Pastor Doug Andersen has a heart to see every believer open to an understanding of what God wants to do in and through their lives. He says, "It's more than simple belief! Each of us is called to become an effective tool in God's Hand to see the world impacted through influence, prayer, and taking spiritual authority in our environments."
Pastor Doug received his ministerial training at LIFE Bible College, graduating in 1988 with his Bachelor of Arts degree. He has also served as a youth pastor at The Church On The Way (1988-1991). In 1992, the Andersens moved to Fresno, and served as youth pastors at Valley Christian Center. In 1995, they returned to The Church On The Way in Van Nuys, were Pastor Doug served for many years as an Executive Pastor, before being installed as the Senior Pastor at a newly planted church - The Church On The Way Santa Clarita, in 2008.
In addition to being a senior pastor, Pastor Doug serves the Foursquare denomination as a Board Member, is a member of the Southern California District of Foursquare Cabinet, and is on the Board of Directors for the Foursquare Foundation. He is also a contributing writer for the Spirit-Filled Life Bible for Students and for Pastors of Promise.
His partner in ministry is his wife, Christa, who is also a graduate of LIFE Bible college, and is herself an ordained minister. Christa is a gifted writer and deeply insightful. She was also a contributing author to the book, Pastors of Promise. She serves as the Executive Director of Operation as well as leads the Women's Ministries at The Church On The Way Santa Clarita. In these roles, Christa uses her gifts and sensitivity to the voice of God to keep much of the flow of ministry at the church happening. Doug and Christa married in 1987 and have three children: Brandt, Emma and Carl. Brandt was married in 2015. He and his wife, Emily, welcomed their first children (twins!) into the world in May 2017. Emma and her Fiance, Cruz Contreras, will be getting married in October 2017. Carl has just graduated from High School. In their spare time, the Andersens enjoy spending time together as a family, going on hikes, hanging out with their dog, Tucker, and exploring new places to eat. Pastor Doug is a "car guy" who loves to restore and remodel cars, as well as do home improvement projects and play golf (though poorly).
