Pastor Doug Andersen has a heart to see every believer open to an understanding of what God wants to do in and through their lives. "It's more than simple belief! Each of us is called to become an effective tool in God's hand to see the world impacted through influence, prayer, and taking spiritual authority in our environments."

Pastor Doug received his ministerial training at LIFE Bible College, graduating in 1988 with a B.A. He began working at The Church On The Way in Van Nuys in 1984 on the facilities staff. He has also served as a youth pastor at The Church On The Way (1988-1991). In 1992 the Andersens moved to Fresno and served as youth pastors at Valley Christian Center. In 1995 he returned to The Church On The Way in Van Nuys and served for many years as the Executive Pastor later taking the oversight of the North Campus in Santa Clarita.

In the summer of 2008 the North Campus of The Church On The Way developed into a free-standing Foursquare church and Doug became the Senior Pastor of The Church On The Way - Santa Clarita. Doug has been a contributing writer for the Spirit-Filled Life Bible for Students and Pastors of Promise. His love for people and desire to serve has taken him to conferences and churches throughout the western states where he has been a guest speaker.

His partner in ministry is his wife, Christa, who is also a graduate of LIFE Bible College, and is, herself, an ordained minister. Doug and Christa married in 1987 and have served the Lord together in every capacity. They have three children: high school, junior high, and elementary school age.

Christa is a uniquely gifted writer and deeply insightful. She was also a contributing author to the book - Pastors of Promise. She serves a key role in making many things at the Church work with her giftedness and sensitivity to the voice of God. She is a valuable and stable force in the ministry. At The Church On The Way - Santa Clarita Christa leads the Women's Ministries and keeps much of the flow of ministry at the Church happening.

In Doug's spare time he loves to enjoy his kids, work on his car, do home improvement projects and carpentry, and play golf (though poorly). A guiding concept for his life was learned from his father who said, "If somebody can do this, you can!" Doug adds, "There's never been anything that I haven't been willing to try. I believe that we are each gifted uniquely and there is no limit to the expression of God's gifts in our lives. God equips those whom He calls."
